What is natural painting?
Unlike conventional acrylic paintings (even «zero VOC» versions), natural paintings are biodegradables and free from petrochemical ingredients. Conventional paintings, which contain a variety of toxins which must be carefully eliminated to prevent environmental contamination. Natural paintings are made with a limited number of ingredients treated at least and are biodegradable. Natural paintings are paintings made from raw ingredients such as clay, vegetable oils, lime, chalk, marble, earth and natural pigments and which are not produced from petrochemical (oil derivatives) or synthetic ingredients.
Natural painting is based on the inherent qualities of natural ingredients which can be used as binders (such as casein, cellulose), loads (such as marble, which provides opacity and whiteness) and pigments (like earth pigments which draw their natural color from their mineral content). There are a variety of different types of natural paintings, in particular, natural paint with vegetable oils, lime painting, clay painting, hut painting. Most of the natural paintings offered by bioloors are without VOCs and can be used safely during pregnancy.
How is it made? (Composition)
Many of the main ingredients in conventional paintings are extremely energy -consuming to produce (derived from petrochemicals). Natural paintings are made with ingredients which are treated at least and which are also available in abundance. They can be found in different forms such as matt vegetable painting or lime brush used from antiquity with sanitizing properties.
The differences between natural painting and conventional paintings are important not only for your health and the environment, but also for building health. With their synthetic binders (usually acrylic or vinyl), conventional latex paints produce a plastic type coating on your walls which does not let moisture pass. In comparison, natural paintings are breathable and contribute to a positive ambient climate. The use of a natural paint prevents humidity problems. The qualities open to the dissemination of natural paint are particularly desirable in highly isolated passive houses.

For example, our matt organic painting is composed as follows:
Resin based on sunflower and rapeseed vegetable oil, chalk, cellulose, calcium carbonate, made from
a selection of non -toxic and biodegradable components, respectful of the environment and health,

It is also possible to make your own organic paint based on ingredients such as linseed oil, Meudon white or other ingredients, but the task is much more difficult.

What supports to apply it on?
Often used first to paint on wood, natural paintings can now be applied to almost all of the most common supports: placo, wall, brick … As long as the surface is clean, it works even on rough walls! These paintings can be used inside and outside!
How to apply your organic paint?
1. PROPERAL OF PROBLES:The supports and their preparation will be homogeneous in absorption, clean, dry, healthy, hard and cohesive

- Eliminate the old soluble paints with water.
- Eliminate all remains of paint with adhesion problems to the support.
- The lacquers and other oil paintings due to their smooth and non -absorbent character must be sanded and then dusted.
2. Assemble:
- T° minimum d’application : 10°
- Apply two layers of natural paint with a brush, roll, pistol, or with a brush.
- Dry to the touch after 1h30
- Recoverable wet on wet or after 12 noon.
- Definitive and washable resistance after about 1 month.
- Yield per layer: 4m² per kg (2 layers for examples for matte paint)
3. Practical consultancy:
- Water tool cleaning.
- Implementation temperature: from + 5 ° C to + 30 ° C.
- Do not use on hot or humid supports.
